With so many gorgeous options out there it can be difficult to choose, so it's a good idea to browse magazines and research online before you hit the shops.
Perhaps shop on the day of your hair and make-up trial so you know exactly what you will look like on the day and wear a similar colour top to your dress (if it mimics the neckline of your gown even better) to avoid making the wrong choice.
Consider whether it is likely you will wear the piece again after your nuptials. Ideally, select something you will wear time and again on special occasions so you can enjoy lots of happy memories with the special piece.

HOW TO CHOOSE
Be sure to consider the cut and style of your gown. A plunging neckline may benefit from a long pendant, while a scooped or sweetheart necklace is perfectly complemented by a round or choker-style necklace.
Don't forget to organise a pretty handbag or small clutch - just large enough to fit in a lipstick, phone, blotting paper or powder, mints, a small bottle of your perfume and of course the all-important tissues!
Understand jewellery may be suitable if you have an elaborate gown, floral crown or bejewelled headpiece, while spectacular drop earrings with pearls (real or faux), crystals or beads can look fabulous with an updo, chic pony or sleek hair.
Slightly brushed metals and antique-style pieces look fabulous with vintage gowns with lots of lace, while clear bright crystals are great for a modern dress. If your dress has lots of beading and embellishment, take this as your cue for deciding on jewellery.

For a modern take you could incorporate some colour or 'something blue' into your jewellery. A bracelet with a few blue stones, some aquamarine studs or a headpiece with striking blue beads are gorgeous ways to incorporate the tradition.
It's also important to remember your friends and family want to see the real you so make sure you're not overly accessorised, as too much can overwhelm you and your gown. You may find less really is more and you only need a pair of gorgeous earrings - after all, you will be receiving your most important piece of jewellery when you say I do!
